A Midautumn Night's Dream at Hwa Kang modernizes and localizes Shakespeare's comedy by presenting the lovers as students of Chinese Culture University and the guildsmen as mechanics entering on motorcycles. Meanwhile, the fairies are Chinese gods wearing period costumes and performing in xiqu style. An innovative and very physical production, it participated in the 16th World Drama Festival.
