CHING-HIS PERNG, Distinguished Professor Emeritus, National Taiwan University, is currently a Visiting Professor at Fu Jen Catholic University and President of Taipei Chinese PEN Club. Among some thirty books to his credit are three studies on Shakespeare, plus the Chinese translations of Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice and Measure for Measure, as well as Stephen Greenblatt and Charles Mee's Cardeni. He has also co-authored (with Fang Chen) Bond and Measure, Measure! Shake-xiqu adaptations of The Merchant of Venice and Measure for Measure, respectively. The former has seen performances in Taiwan, China, London, and U.S.A.
