A political marriage has been arranged for Xingyuan, the elder son of the Prince of Jingnan, and Princess Yulan of the Empire of Xuan Wu. On the eve of the wedding day, the bridegroom is nowhere to be found. The Prince of Jingnan is forced to put off the wedding on the pretence that Xingyuan has suddenly fallen sick, and sends Shiyuan, his younger son, to placate the impatient Princess. In the mean time, guards are searching everywhere for the missing young master to no avail. Finally Xingyuan returns, bringing with him a shocking secret…
