Sheng Chien as Ferdinand
Sheng Chien graduated from the Department of Drama and Theater Application, National Taiwan University of Arts and the Kuo Kuang Academy of Arts. Specializing in laosheng (old male) and wusheng (military male) roles, he was previously affiliated with the Hai Guang Opera Troupe and Da Peng Opera Troupe. Since 1993 he has performed with the Contemporary Legend Theatre (CLT) at the Shinjuku Cultural Centre in Tokyo, Aachen in Germany, Festival d’Avignon in France and San Diego de Compostela Millenium Festival in Spain. In 1995 he joined the Kuo Kuang Chinese Opera Company. His credits include CLT’s The Kingdom of Desire, Waiting for Godot, 108 Heroes - Tales from the Water Margin; Kuo Kuang Chinese Opera Company’s Wu Zixu, Chin Qiong Watches Battle Array, Journey through Hell, Li Shimin and Wei Zheng; Taiwan Kunqu Opera Troupe’s Tai Bai Zi Xie; and Dance Forum Taipei’s Eastern Current.
