Abstract：During the Carnival of Chinese Opera, a 12th-grader had her face painted to show her love of Chinese opera. Taiwan Bangzi Company is going to perform Bond, an adaption of The Merchant of Venice on campus.
Alyda Dick, a 12th-grader at Lakeland High School, reacts to her painted face during the Carnival of Chinese Opera at the University of Scranton on Thursday. The carnival included a lecture and 15-minute skits demonstrating traditional Chinese theater. The university is presenting Bond, an adaptation of The Merchant of Venice, to be performed by the Taiwan BangZi Opera Company tonight at 7:30 at the Scranton Cultural Center. Although admission is free, reservations are required.
