Abstract:A Midsummer Night’s Dream premiere information and plot summary

SPRING WIND ART THEATER 南風劇團 will perform MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM《仲夏夜之夢》on September 3 at Kaohsiung’s Chi-Teh Hall, and September 9-11 at the Red Playhouse in Taipei. Based on William Shakespeare’s play, Spring Wind’s version of Midsummer Night’s Dream will be directed by Hinrich Horstkotte with a cast of local performers. Midsummer Night’s Dream has been called William Shakespeare’s happiest and most enchanting work, and this production is still true to this timeless tale. Two young lovers, Hermia and Lysander, take refuge in the forest to escape the wrath of the Duke of Athens. There, while a group of bumbling actors rehearse a play for the royal wedding, the audiences watch the hilarious misadventures of the young lovers and their friends as their lives and loves are shaken by a marvelous collection of supernatural creatures of the night, led by Oberon, King of the Fairies, and Puck, his mischievous minion. This will be sure a delightful romp that everyone will enjoy in the summertime. For information, visit http://www.spring-wind.com.tw/. Tickets are available through the ERA ticketing system.
